One Of The Greatest Qualities To Look For In a Lover/Spouse

  • Join us for TWIG - That  Which Is Good by 12.00am Saturday morning. Remember we said TWIG will now be Tuesday mornings and Saturdays mornings by 12.00am GMT +1 We will be talking and praying about Overcoming Delays in Relationships and Marriages!

What is that one quality you should watch for in a prospective lover or spouse?

There are many qualities, and there are many attraction points, but one thing you should take into cognizance is what I want to talk about this morning.

This quality can preserve a couple and make their marriage last longer.

I am talking about the quality of meekness.

 What is meekness?

Meekness simply means being submissive, being teachable.

Meekness is not weakness, rather it is strength under control

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary describes meekness as having or showing a quiet and gentle nature; not wanting to fight or argue with other people.

Let’s take a look at the scriptures:

    1Pe 3:3-4 (KJV)
Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;  [4]  But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a MEEK and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

Here the scriptures advises that aside from the pulchritude, which is evident in adorning of hair, use of jewelry and nice wears, let there be an adorning of the heart as well, that is an ornament of MEEK and quiet spirit.

You see, we all come into relationships and marriages with a baggage, baggage from the past, issues from past emotional upheavals, tensions arising from strained relationships in the past, highly opinionated postures emanating from parental upbringing, warped ideas resulting from emotional, verbal, sexual and physical abuses, and the list goes on.

The only way we can survive in a relationship or marriage with all the undesirable and irritating baggage is to be MEEK!

To be teachable and submissive. That is the only way to make it in relationship or marriage.

A hard posture, statue-like stance in relationship or marriage will always almost destroy any relationship or marriage. Click To Tweet

Flexibility and willingness to adjust and learn new things will go a long way to add spice and fun into your relationship or marriage.

Beware of opinionated, stubborn and unwilling to change partners! Click To Tweet

Even as a child of God, your success is predicated on continual renewal of mind, with the word of God.

This constant transformation has to be taking place. That is why you go to church. That is why we send you KHC devotional daily, that is why you should read your Bible daily.

The word of God is the key to learning meekness.

There is a change and a transformation that come into your life as you behold the word off God.

2Co 3:18 (KJV)

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

If you are already in a relationship, or married, that is one way to start changing.

You cannot change your lover or spouse. If you attempt it, you will frustrated.

You are not equipped to change anybody. Click To Tweet

But with the word of God and its study, anybody can make a change in his or her life.

God loves those who are meek and teachable!

Psa 25:9 (KJV)

The meek will He guide in judgment: and the meek will He teach his way.

If you are meek, God will lift you up.

The meek person will always rise to the top anywhere he finds himself.

    Psalms 147:6   (KJV)
The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

There is a beautification of destiny that awaits those who are meek.

Psalms 149:4   (KJV)
For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: He will beautify the meek with salvation.

There is an inheritance upon this earth awaiting those who are meek.

Matthew 5:5   (KJV)
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

I can go on and on, but the point is that you should look out for a meek lover.

Beware of any lover who doesn’t want to be taught, who is not submissive to any authority, that his or her parents cannot talk to.

One of the saddest statements I have heard in counseling sessions is when a a person says his or her spouse doesn’t listen to anybody, not even his or her parents!

Do not marry anybody who is not accountable to anybody! Click To Tweet

If you do, you are on your own o!

Who do you report him or her to when there are issues?

I pray that God will guide and lead you in Jesus name!

Appreciating all KHC partners who sent in their partnership seeds in the past week.

God bless you and honor you in Jesus name!

To many of our partners that we’ve have not heard from, it's time to repent o!

May God honor you continually and place in your hands what is in your heart to do in Jesus name!

Kindly share if you are blessed
