Disgraced professional cyclist, Lance Armstrong has been ordered by a Dallas court to pay an estimated $10m to insurance company, SCA Promotions Inc. The lawsuit was tabled by SCA after the American was rewarded with the sum of $5.7m for his triumph at the Tour de France in 2004 although he confessed in an exclusive televised interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2013 to have doped in all of his seven Tour de France wins.

In 2012, the United States Anti-Doping Agency stripped him off all his Tour de France titles and handed him a life ban from the sport in what was described as the “most sophisticated, professionalised and successful doping programme” ever unravelled in the sporting world.

The president of SCA Promotions Inc., Bob Hamman said it was difficult to describe the level to which the lies perpetuated by Armstrong has cost the company but that this court ruling was the right first step in the process of redeeming the image of the company.

There you go folks, the age long adage that says ‘many days for the thief, but one day for the owner’ is very contemporary and another says ‘you will have to tell a second lie to cover up the first’. So, it pays to be truthful ALWAYS.
