Morocco Appeal CAF Ban

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation will tender an appeal to Court of Arbitration for Sport to rescind a ban placed on the senior team by Confederation of African Football (CAF) from participating in the 2017 and 2019 African Cup of Nations tournaments. They have also been served a fine of €830,000 ($946,610) asides a regulatory fine of $1m. Morocco declined to host the 2015 AFCON edition won by Ivory Coast over fears of Ebola. Equatorial Guinea came to the rescue six weeks to the kick-off date of January 17.
Spokesman for the FRMF, Mohamed Makrou, said, "This is not a conflict with CAF, The law allows to appeal and we will accept any decision from the court.”
