We've been married for 5 years now and have 2 children.
I want to go for my master's program but my wife says not yet.
She claims the children still needs me around, of which I told her I will always be around.
She's just bent on not letting me go.

Sir, please I think you should listen to her, your wife and mother of your children.
From you length of years in marriage, I assume the children are still very young. I also think you are going to a far destination. Thus the children really need you indeed.
Madam herself needs you more.
Its either you wait a little more...say 2 years. OR look for other options and arrangements that can make you be around and still do the masters.
