Eaglets Qualify for U-17 World Cup

    Nigeria’s U-17 national team the Golden Eaglets have secured a ticket to the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile after beating Zambia 3-1 in their final Group A match to secure a semi-final berth at the on-going African U-17 Championship in Niger.

    With the result, Nigeria top Group A with seven points ahead of Guinea, who secured the other ticket from the group, despite losing 2-1 to hosts, Niger Republic. The Eaglets will now face South Africa while Guinea Squares up with Mali.

    The Golden Eaglets are the FIFA U-17 champions. Manu Garba’s lads won the last edition held in UAE in 2013. This time around, former Nigeria international, Emmanuel Amunike will lead his boys with the task of retaining the U-17 trophy in the NFF glass house.
