What A Lady Should Never Do To Her Husband-To-Be

Yesterday’s devotional was about women, writing to men. Today’s devotional is about men, writing to women.

There are things you do for or to your husband and it is like strengthening your marriage and there are things you do and it is like weakening your marriage. Life is all about getting more wisdom! The more wisdom you get and you apply in your life, the more things become better in your marriage.

As a fiancée, here are a few things to take note of.

1. Don't nag him

The first thing you should understand about a man is that he doesn’t want to be nagged. Do you know persistent and unrepentant nagging can cause separation?

Solomon advised that you should not nag because of its obvious consequences.

When somebody like Solomon is talking about women, it is wise to listen. Why? Well, Solomon had a thousand women in his harem, seven hundred wives and three hundred concubines. You will never be able to break that record. Solomon knew women. He had them all. The short and the tall, the fat and the thin, the dark and the light in complexion, the quick and the slow, the sanguine and choleric, the melancholy and the phlegmatic, the spiritual the carnal, the beautiful and the ugly, the wonderful and the fearful…, he simply had them all in all their elements!

So, we see Solomon talking about nagging here:

It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house. (Proverbs 21:9 KJV)

Here in verse 9, Solomon, talking from experiences from his numerous wives said nagging can make a man relocate to the penthouse!

Then, further down in that same chapter, as if he suddenly remembered another of his wives, he said:

It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman. (Proverbs 21:19 KJV)

It was more like, did I say penthouse? Well, nagging can send a man to the wilderness!

The implication here is that when you suddenly see a guy walking away, it could be as a result of nagging.

When your fiancé who professes to love you suddenly refrain from calling you regularly, check out whether you have been nagging him.

The scriptures says he that findeth a wife findeth good…

Nagging is not good, so it is not part of what the man is trying to find.

No relationship or marriage will last with nagging day and night! There is a difference between nagging and communicating. You can communicate with fiancé intelligently without nagging and that is what you should learn to do!

Nagging involves constant non-ending harassment of the other person. It can be so irritating!

If as a single, you notice you have issues with nagging, especially, if a grandmother raised you or something like that, it is wise to confront the weakness and start dealing with it. Get books, get mentors and deal with it so that the attitude doesn’t follow you into marriage.
