Don't Marry A Lady Like Job's Wife

Women are known to be very influential. The man may be the head of the house, but the woman has a lot of influence.

As a matter of fact, the scripture presents a picture wherein the man needs the woman and that is why God said, ‘I will make him an helpmeet.”

The scripture even says that a man that finds a wife finds good and obtains favour from God.

This presents a picture of the man and the woman working together. As a lady in courtship or marriage, one of the ways you help him out is ensuring that you don’t put him under unnecessary or undue pressure to perform.

By this I don’t mean, a lady should be held responsible for the man’s mistakes, but there are certainly times when the lady’s demand can fuel a man whose integrity is already at stake.

Delilah had a lot of influence on Samson and eventually obtained the secret of his power, which led to his eventual death. Her influence ended his ministry and destiny.

That is never the plan of God.

When Job was at the lowest ebb of his life, his wife looked at him, in his pain that knew no limit, in his wretchedness of a person who was once one of the richest, in a time when he needed encouragement most, his wife said, “curse God and die!

Job refused to be influenced. Job told her, “you speak as one of the foolish women!” All of Job’s friends have already disappointed him and he told them, “Miserable comforters are ye all.” But the only person that could have made a difference in his life was his wife. It didn’t matter what friends say, if his wife could encourage him, there would be strength. But she did not!

Job’s wife was not a wife, she was a knife that cuts and lacerates

A woman is created to help, but there is a difference between help and hell.

As a single in courtship, make sure there is no undue pressure that would make him take a decision that would be at loggerheads with God.

As singles in courtship, understand that wedding is one day, marriage continues. Don’t focus on weeding day and spend all the money only to be in debts for the next one year after wedding. That would not be unwise.

Rather than put pressure on him to perform, put your pressure on God to bless both of you.

Support Him to go after God. Support him to obey God. Support him to give more and sow seeds into your future. Support his dreams and visions and at then end, both of you will reap for doing it God’s way.
