Responsibility, An Important Quality To Look Out For

1st Corinthians 13:11
When I was a child, my speech, feelings, and thinking were all those of a child; now that I am an adult, I have no more use for childish ways.

There are certain qualities that a lady has to look out for in a guy that is interested in her before giving him an answer and I believe every man should strive to have these qualities

1. He must have the fear of God – he submits to the word of God as the final authority in every matter

2. He must submit to an earthly authority – pastor, mentor, spiritual authority. There must be a person of authority that he has covenanted to listen to.

3. He must have passion for you (Passion is a depth of resolve within you that through that lady you have gotten satisfaction and there is no need for another).

4. He must be responsible.

I’ll just touch on a few things concerning responsibilities especially in relation to the men (ladies can still pick a thing or two from it), because our first primary role in the family as the man is to show loving leadership over wife and children.

The second primary role in the family of the man is to be the "breadwinner" i.e. working to make money to support family.

Part of growing up is taking responsibility for oneself.

We start as infants with no personal responsibility whatsoever—everything that we need done is done for us.

As we progress through the various stages of childhood, we take on more and more responsibility.

We learn to tie our own shoes, clean our own rooms and so on.

We learn that responsibility has its rewards—and irresponsibility has other, less-than-desirable effects.

In many ways, the difference between a child and a man is his willingness to take personal responsibility for his actions.

As Paul says, “When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me” (1 Corinthians 13:11).

The Bible expects us to take personal responsibility in all areas of life.

Able-bodied people should work for their food.

“The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat” (2 Thessalonians 3:10).

Men are to take responsibility for providing for their households (1 Timothy 5:8).

Things that characterize responsible people

1. They understand that desire or wishing is not enough to bring you into the place of destiny. They apply actions to their desires to produce results

2. A responsible person does not make excuses.

3. A responsible person admits his/her mistakes

4. A responsible person stops blaming other people for his/her problems, whether the government, parents

5. A responsible person does not have a dependency mentality – He is not needy, He’s able to meet his own needs as a man and not totally depending on others i.e. parents.

I pray for our brothers/ husbands to be that God will equip us and help us to be responsible bringing glory to His name.
