The normal slang is that, 'I can't wait to...' When you desire something so badly, there is every tendency to want to have it by all means. As humans, waiting for an 'unseen God' seem anti human. We want to be on the move,we want to be seen doing something even if it is crying, whining or complaining (because most of the time we end up not doing the right things at least in the sight of God).

In life, there are a lot of things we are waiting for. It could be a job, a salary raise, a spouse, a child, a contract, your school result, visa interview reply, your consignments, your wedding gown, your car, your house, reply to a request....Just name it. We all have something we are and will wait for.

Here is a beautiful scripture to encourage us who have been waiting and now are getting tired.

Isa 30:18 MSG 'But God's not finished. He is waiting around to be gracious to you. He is gathering strength to show you mercy. God takes time to do everything right- everything. Those who wait around for him are the lucky ones'.

Wow! Not only are you the one waiting, God too is waiting. Waiting to be gracious to you. Some people are mistaken, they think God does not understand the pressure they face when they are waiting. God does.

I love the first sentence. God is not finished. How exciting? This should get some one dancing and shouting, God is not finished with me yet! I am a work in progress in His hands. Your life may not look like much now, but tell life to wait and see the new glorified you. You know I remember when the street to our house was been tarred. Everything looked like a mess, it was not convenient. The construction company kept at it, working, digging, making gutters for drainage etc. they kept telling us be patient we are not finished yet, we know what we are doing. Now, we have a beautiful well constructed tarred road. It was worth all the wait.

If in the natural we can trust and have confidence in construction companies and Engineers, how much more are we suppose to trust the Almighty God. He says concerning all that concerns you, He is not finished! God is waiting around to be gracious to you. That beats my thinking! He is hovering around you to be gracious to you. To shower you with His love, favor, goodness and abundance not because you are qualified but because Jesus paid the price for you to enjoy them.

Then, the big one! God says He is gathering strength to be merciful to you!!!! Wow!! I am shouting, screaming already! What a great Love! You know it took me quite a while of meditating to get some understanding of this? I started wondering, how come? Why does God need to gather strength? Does He really need to gather strength to show mercy?

The picture that came to my mind was, a king deciding to pay you a visit or attend your party- your wedding. He can choose to send a representative. That will be good enough. But now he decides to come in person. When He is coming, He gathers strength. He comes with His full royal regalia, his crown, his spectre of authority, his entourage etc. when he comes like that anything can happen. Of cause his various cheque books will be with him!

Now imagine God! The Almighty gathering strength to show you mercy.  You should walk some inches taller now. God is gathering strength to show me mercy. I am a product and recipient of God's mercy. Hallelujah ! No wonder it ended by saying, God makes everything right - everything. What looks like delay or a curse, He turns it into a miracle. And then blessed are all those who wait for Him! That means our waiting is not in vain since we are trusting in the Almighty God while waiting for Him to show us mercy and Be gracious to us.

So don't despair. As you wait, God is working out something great and glorious. Don't give up on your waiting. Keep standing on Gods word and your 'wait' shall turn to 'win'.
Go ahead and declare to yourself, God is gathering strength to show me Mercy in Jesus Mighty Name.

I Will Wait

In life there are a lot of things we are waiting for.
