REVIEW
Johnny begins the book with a foreword by his wife. Elizabeth Enlow says “The prophetic revelation Johnny teaches in the book will truly revolutionize your thinking…Your heart has cried out wondering if there is something you could give God from your life that would please him; is there not something I was created to do of eternal weight? Just like David, you will see that your years of finding God in the midst of the mundane and killing the lions and bears that came your way, has prepared you to kill giants”. (Page 9-10)
CONTENTS
In the book, Johnny identifies seven mountains of influence in our modern day and relates them to the seven heathen nations to be conquered by the Israelites before taking the Promised Land in the old testament. He postulates that every believer is called to at least one of these mountains to exercise influence and bring the kingdom of heaven on the earth. He takes his anchor scripture from Isaiah 2:2 KJV stating that in the last days, the mountain of the Lord’s house will be exalted over all other mountains roundabout and all peoples shall flow to it. These mountains are identified thus:
He states that only Elijah revolutionaries who have been properly trained by God will be fully equipped to take over these mountains and thus, enjoins every believer to step out of the ordinary and thirst for the anointing of Elijah. “The coming Elijah Revolution will have transforming dynamics as powerful as a Tsunami, and it will affect the entire world.” Malachi 4:5-6
Each believer is therefore to manifest the anointing of Elijah in his/her sphere as empowered by the Holy Spirit. He explains in each chapter who the king of each mountain is (Hittites, Canaanites, Jebusites, etc) and his biblical history. He further explains the levels of influence on each mountain. While each mountain has its unique properties, levels of influence and means of reaching for the top, germane to all mountains are the multi-pronged approaches of:
Believers are warned not to engage the strategies through fleshly desires or actions as these will guarantee failure. Every action is to be engaged in as led by the Spirit of God.
CONCLUSION/RECOMMENDATION
This book is one of the few books I can boldly attest to being written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It carries the seed and propensity to help every true believer in Christ who wants to achieve more for the enthronement of the kingdom of God here on earth to do so in his sphere and at the level of his influence knowing that each step has eternal value.
I want to sound a note of caution here to my African readers. Given that the author is an American, most of his analogies are drawn from the American society and may not be easily comprehended by Africans. It would be wise to read up a little on examples that are not understood. Further down, it is recommended that a similar and updated book be written for the African audience which will serve as a guide for us, our churches and governments. Also, it is important that we act like the Berean Christians in searching out the truth from the Bible. This is not a novel. It is a manual for the war against the kingdom of darkness and it will shake itself off of lukewarm Christians.
Furthermore, it must be noted that the book is not exhaustive in its delineation of strategies to be used in this battle. It simply serves as a catalyst and as we press into God, we will receive new, fresh and clearer insights on how to win this battle till the end.
I strongly recommend this book to everyone for personal and group study as well as leadership studies on all seven mountains.
