We started looking at the subject of honour yesterday!
How crucial this subject is! How beautiful it will be for you to understand the mysterious blessings that follows anyone who understands honour!
The first thing we looked at yesterday is to honour God in your devotion!
Today we proceed to the next one.
2. Honour Him in your consecration
A life of consecration is a life that is sold out to God. It is a non-conforming life to what’s the vogue.
It’s a life that is completely sold out to God.
When you honour God in your consecration, you honour Him in your spirit, soul and body!
Believe me, when you do this, you will eliminate every delay experienced as singles.
SPIRIT
On the spirit level, you deliberately keep your spirit tuned and attuned to God and the things of God. It’s a life that wants to please God and God only! Priority is to keep your spirit trained through the study of the word and praying in the Holy Ghost!
God’s word has the capacity to keep you consecrated!
Joh 17:17 (KJV)
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
The Message Translation is more apt!
Joh 17:17 (MSG) Make them holy—consecrated—with the truth; Your word is consecrating truth.
The more you do this to your spirit, the more you are getting yourself ready for that beautiful wedding!
SOUL
On the soul level, you stay consecrated by the renewal of the word and by constant mediation of God’s word. You take charge of your thoughts!
The scripture never teaches that our thoughts should lead us. Rather, it presents a picture that we are to be in charge of our thoughts.
For example, it says, we should choose what we think on.
Let’s see that here.
Php 4:8 (MSG) Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse.
Deliberate consecration in your thoughts will position you for the best in your marital endeavours!
BODY
Presenting your body to God is honourable!
Rom 12:1 (KJV) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
As a single, recognise and honour your body as the temple of God and avoid every form of description!
Fornication is not the way to go! If you make mistake, consecrate yourself and start over with God!
Do not allow any erring hands to navigate the contours of your body, plundering your God-given body which is meant for your spouse only!
Do not allow lust-filled brother, and lust laden sisters to corrupt and slow down your marital journey!
Honour your God by honouring your body! Whoever is dishonouring your body now, will dishonour your person later!
