So I woke up this morning trying to practice the presence of the Lord in my morning prayers.
I had slept very late last night and was a little draggy this morning.
While I was praying, I was distracted, there was no flow, no connection. The prayer was a struggle.
Then I came to myself that I was just wasting time and trying to pacify my conscience. The Holy Spirit said to me, your "thoughts are wandering".
Then I realized one of the major hindrances to "being still" is when we allow our minds to wander. An average human being has tens of thousands of thoughts flying across their minds.
When we yield to the dictates of the flesh and don't capture these thoughts, we are not able to focus on God.
When our minds are stayed on God we are blessed.
Don't just allow the devil to steal precious opportunities from you. Opportunities of connecting with God and the Holy Spirit to draw power and grace.
Anytime you experience such wandering thoughts and issues in your mind, be quick to do what the Bible recommends.
2Cor 10:4-5 (ERV)
"The weapons we use are not human ones. Our weapons have power from God and can destroy the enemy’s strong places.
We destroy people’s arguments, and we tear down every proud idea that raises itself against the knowledge of God.
We also capture every thought and make it give up and obey Christ.
Capture every wandering thought, that doesn't want you to be still and know that God is God. Capture every wandering thought and make it obey Christ.
Let's look at the same scriptures in KJV
2 Cor 10:4-5
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
We pull down strongholds. We cast down imaginations. We bring every thought captive to the knowledge of Christ.
When we do all these, we will learn to be still and recognize God in our marriage. Only then can He be exalted in our lives, family, business, and marriage.
May God strengthen us in Jesus name.
God bless our marriage in Jesus name, amen.
