When 2020 was about to begin, many of us were sitting at the Lord's feet and eagerly waiting to hear what he will say to us. Of a truth, to many of us, the year 2020 is an extraordinary year.
Even in the midst of the happenings, dreams and aspirations were being fulfilled and to others, it is still not yet, but how many of us have actually gone back to sit at the Lord's feet to hear from him why those prophecies and word encounters are yet to come into being.
Now while they were on their way, Jesus entered a village [called Bethany], and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home. She had a sister named Mary, who seated herself at the Lord’s feet and was continually listening to His teaching. But Martha was very busy and distracted with all of her serving responsibilities; and she approached Him and said, “Lord, is it of no concern to You that my sister has left me to do the serving alone? Tell her to help me and do her part.” But the Lord replied to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered and anxious about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part [that which is to her advantage], which will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:38 - 42 AMP
As this year is coming to an end, many of us are like Mary and Martha. The tribe of Mary are sitting at the Lord's feet, making inquires, seeking directions, and asking questions, 'Lord this year, you said I will be getting married, this is November and no guy has shown up and God is speaking.
The tribe of Martha are very busy and distracted with responsibilities that no one gave them. They are worried, bothered, and anxious about so many things, forgetting that only one thing is necessary.
I want to challenge us this morning. Go back to those things that God said to you at the beginning of the year that is yet to come into being and sit with him and I'm bold to tell you that concerning that dream job, that wedding, relationship, business and opened doors you heard at the beginning of the year, God is still saying something. All you need is to go back and sit at his feet.
Stop being worried and anxious. When Jesus was about to feed the five thousand men and his disciples were confused and worried about how and where the food will come by, Jesus instructed them to make the people sit down.
In the midst of that singleness, joblessness, relationships, and unfulfilled expectations, God is saying something but you can only learn what he is saying by sitting at his feet and which is to your advantage.
Just like Habakkuk many of us need to climb back to our watchtower and wait to see what the Lord says.
Understanding is given to us in Jesus name Amen.
