The Lord is the builder. I say again to singles, the Lord is the builder.
Can I say it one more time? The Lord is the builder.
It is good to go for what you want. It is also good to be interested in what the Lord wants for you.
Psa 127:1 (KJV)
Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
Why is this?
Your brain, as powerful as it is, has its limitations especially when it comes to marital decisions.
Your brain will know who you want now, but may not know who really wants you, and yet the mutuality of love is a crucial one here.
Your brain can cook the necessary chemistry, but may not know how to keep the chemicals sustained after a few months or years.
Your brain can know who you want now, but may not know who you will want in ten years' time.
They always say, “receive brain!’ Cool. I add this, “Receive God!’
Your brain may know who you want, but only God knows who will still be alive, in another five years. Nobody plans to become a widow, but God preserves and He alone knows the preserved.
Your brain can decipher temperaments, but cannot decode the right set of temperaments for you given the fact that temperaments change and evolve. Today’s choleric can become tomorrow’s phlegmatic! Only God knows how such love equations can still have a solution.
Ha, yes, only God knows who will love you and will still love you in fifty years.
Figure 8 shaped ladies are often transformed into no shape. Six-packs often morph into an amusement park! Afro hair is often razed into bald eagle style!
Only God knows who will still appeal to you after few years.
I can go on and on, but my point is clear, you will always need God. Your brain is massive in its capability but inept in certain areas.
That is why the greatest intellectuals can have the worst marriage or never even get married.
I love the CEV translation.
Psa 127:1 (CEV)
Without the help of the LORD it is useless to build a home or to guard a city.
Notice the guy here actually built. But the sober conclusion is that it is useless.
They labored, they invested, had an expensive wedding, honeymoon in the seven most beautiful countries on earth, but alas...it is in vain because God is ignored.
God doesn’t like being IGNORED.
Ignoring God in your marital decisions is a nemesis in waiting.
Let Him be involved. Let Him take the glory. Let Him show you the way.
I pray that God will grant you more understanding in Jesus name.
CONFESSION FOR THE DAY
I will allow God to build my home. I do not take the driver's seat.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
Oh Jesus, take the wheel.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Ps 127:1 TPT
If God’s grace doesn’t help the builders, they will labor in vain to build a house. If God’s mercy doesn’t protect the city, all the sentries will circle it in vain.
ACTION PLAN FOR THE DAY
Involve God in your marital decisions.
