Manchester United face a tricky home tie against FA Cup defending champions Arsenal after beating Preston North End 3-1 in Monday night.

England manager Roy Hodgson helped make the draw with the aid of the son of former Preston and England legend Tom Finney and the clash between two of the giants of English football was comfortably the most tantalising of the quarter-finals.

Given the fact neither are going to win the Premier League this season, the FA Cup is the next best prize on offer, certainly for Louis van Gaal at United. Arsenal are still in the Champions League but Arsene Wenger will feel the domestic cup is still their best chance of adding another trophy to his already impressive haul.

Bradford City’s reward for knocking out Premier League side Sunderland is another home game against Championship side Reading.

Hodgson took time to praise the club’s achievements in this year’s competition insisting Phil Parkinson’s side deserved “enormous credit for knocking out Chelsea and Sunderland.”
