Romans 8:13King James Version (KJV)
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
If he live after flesh, fleshy desires, allowing your human spirit to control you, you shall Die. This death is not physical death, its spirtual death which gradually would lead to physical death.
Look at what another verse says...
Vs 6;
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
To be carnally minded means death, and if you are carnally minded, you cannot please God, because you are in the flesh.
Gradually ,you become to get lost from Christ, and before you know it.. It leads to Death.
We need to be conscious of these and not allow our flesh to rule us. If you allow yournflesh to rule you, you would not please God!
Because the carnal mind is enimity against God.
So your fleshy desires would always contradict God will and purpose for your life.
You need to be at alert!
John 10:10 says.

10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
King James Version (KJV)
The thief wants to steal , Kill and destroy your homes and marriages etc. But Jesus is saying he has come to give us life. Life abundantly...
Controlling your flesh is by the holyspirit in you, not by your power or might.
But the holy spirit can enable us to drop all these fleshy things like Fear, worry, anxiety, lusts, gossips, hatred , malice etc.
And embrace the life of peace unending, the life that brings Joy and happiness.....
Pray iwithout ceasing, if you can..pray in tongues to build your spirit and edify yourself.
Study the word, feed your spirit with the wordnof God, let them be what you practice around you.
Lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and pride of life..would all someday become Ashes..
Don't look and compare yourself. Everybody has individual unique ness in them.
Fear God! Do not be wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
When your flesh wants to take over, remember if you allow it, death is coming gradually....Be wise...
