Little carelessness, Big repercussion

    It is almost scary to think about how little carelessness have turned into great regrets and losses for so many people. Have you heard of lives lost because the person at the wheel borrowed a few seconds to reply a text message? How about carelessly trusting a stranger who turns out to be a murderer? Carelessly leaving a toddler with a knife or not being watchful over a baby by the stairway. We may have experienced one or more of what a little carelessness can cost at one time or another.

    Another bad thing about being careless is that it brings regrets. Regrets that are irreversible. Opportunities lost, dreams and hope dashed. Regrets of knowing you should not be where you are now.

    The same goes for our relationship and marriage. As a wife or husband, there are little carelessness that causes the field of your marriage to overgrow with weeds, thorns and nettles. Most of the time they are not even the very big things but th elittle carelessness here and there. A wife neglecting the way she looks or dresses. Careless with your home, with cooking or sex. Careless with the spiritual atmosphere of your family. Careless with getting unnecessarily intimate with a colleague at work.

    The walls of trust and affection become broken down by carelessly leaving what should be done. We all have fields and it is our responsibility what becomes of it. It is a garden that needs constant attention and diligent watering. Scriptures say when you are careless with your field you must have been slothful at one time or another. It says you have acted without understanding. It is safe then to say, it is understanding that makes our marriage and relationship well kept and beautiful to behold.

    Wives, don't leave your garden to tend to other things. Your field is your field and no one will be responsible for it for you. Your field is what you make of it. If your marriage is overgrown with thorns of adultery, abuse or lack romance and affection, it is time to pay attention to it. This is not a fault finding game but a call to taking responsibility.  That relationship can work, that marriage can still be restored. Be ready to tend your garden and till your field. You will need extra work especially since it must have already overgrown with thorns and nettles.

    Some of us missed out on a lot by years of carelessly not paying attention to our relationships. Now, It is time to be diligent. It is never to late, this is the best time to start. Don't carelessly allow bad habits and behavior to linger. You nag, you drink, you are insensitive to other peoples feelings, you are stingy, you are hard, cruel, sharp tongued etc, all these are careless act that will ruin your relationship and marriage. Be diligent to develop strong character, be loving and lovable and you would have ended up being diligent to tend the garden of your relationship and marriage.

    Pro 24:30 -34

     I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
      And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.
      Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.
     Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
     So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.
