Confession and Affirmation for Day 1 of 123 Days Fasting and Prayers
Heavenly Father, I come before You today with a heart full of gratitude and expectancy, as I begin this sacred journey of fasting and prayer. On this first day, I declare that Your Word is alive in me, and by the power of Your Spirit, I will walk in alignment with Your promises.
Father, I thank You because You have us in Your mind . You are mindful of our needs, challenges, and desires. It is not by chance that we are here; it is by divine appointment. This fast is Your call upon my life, and I joyfully accept it as an act of obedience to Your voice. I proclaim that every step I take during these 123 days is ordained by You, and I trust that You will lead me through each moment with purpose and clarity.
I thank You, Lord, because Your Word has come to us at this time . The scripture from Zechariah 8:18-19 resonates deeply within me—Your promise that what was once sorrowful can now become joyful. These appointed times of fasting are no longer burdens but opportunities for transformation, breakthrough, and celebration. I confess that as I meditate on Your Word daily, it will renew my mind, strengthen my spirit, and align my heart with Your truth.
Lord, I am grateful because You will grant me the grace and strength to participate fully in this fast . I acknowledge that without You, I can do nothing, but with You, all things are possible. I declare that supernatural endurance flows through me, enabling me to fulfill every commitment I make to You during this season. No weakness or temptation will derail me from the path You have set before me. By Your grace, I will persevere until the end.
Thank You, Father, because this fast will bring me JOY ! I believe that even in moments of sacrifice, there is rejoicing because I am drawing closer to You. My soul exults in the knowledge that You are near, and my spirit dances in anticipation of the blessings You have prepared. I declare that joy unspeakable and full of glory will fill my heart throughout this fast, making my countenance radiant with Your presence.
I also thank You because this fast will bring me GLADNESS . Gladness is more than fleeting happiness—it is deep-seated contentment rooted in You. It is the assurance that You are working everything together for my good. As I deny myself and seek Your face, gladness will overflow in my life, dispelling despair and replacing it with hope. I affirm that laughter, peace, and satisfaction will characterize my days ahead.
Finally, I thank You, Lord, for the ability to develop a love for Your Word and the peace that comes through it . Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. During this fast, I will feast on Your truth, allowing it to nourish my spirit and guide my steps. I declare that my love for Your Word will grow stronger each day, anchoring me in unwavering faith. Through Your Word, I receive the peace that surpasses all understanding—a peace that guards my heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
In conclusion, I stand firm in the promises of Zechariah 8:18-19. What was once marked by mourning will now be transformed into seasons of joy, gladness, and cheerful feasts. I embrace this fast as an opportunity to love the truth and pursue peace. With confidence, I say, "This is the day that the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it!" (Psalm 118:24).
I commit myself wholly to You, Lord, trusting that as I surrender, You will pour out Your blessings abundantly. May this fast position me to experience the fullness of Your goodness, and may Your name be glorified in every aspect of this journey.
In Jesus’ mighty name, I confess.
Amen.
